He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Kratz and Dorothy Schmitt Kratz; his daughter Laura Kratz; and his grandchildren, Nadia and Trevor.
He is survived by: his wife Caroline Frye Kratz; his brother Roger Kratz of Indiana; his daughter Susan Alexander (Gene Alexander) of Claxton, GA; and his granddaughters, Rebecca Alexander Butcher (Will) of Atlanta and Allie Alexander Sheridan (Mitch) of Oregon.
