He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Oren D. Grooms and Myrtle Bacon Grooms; his wife Sarah "Jeanie" McDonald Bergeson of Claxton; his daughter Avis G. Peek (Michael) of Lyons; his stepchildren, Eric Bergeson of Florida and Theresa Diaz (Jerome) of Woodbine, GA; and his sisters-in-law, Shirley Grooms of Glennville, Mildred Mackinnon of Claxton and Judy Waddle of Glennville. He was also cherished by 6 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
