He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Vance and Lottie Jane Dees; and his siblings, Larry James Dees, Robert Dees, Sybil Barnard and Dean Boyette.
He is survived by: his daughter Mary Louise Smith of Lyons; his brother Reginald Dees (Mildred) of Port Wentworth; his granddaughter Elizabeth Edenfield (Wes); his great grandchild Kyra Reynolds; and his close friends, Larry and Teresa Tomlinson of Collins. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
