He was predeceased by: his parents, George Franklin Sikes, Jr. and Kathryn Sikes (Eason); his sister Jill Poythress; and his grandparents, Frank, Pearl Sikes, A. D. and Margaret Eason.
He is survived by: his wife Lee Sikes of Claxton; his children, Tripp Sikes (Jamie) of Savannah and Christy Amburn (Randy) of Claxton; his siblings, Gary Sikes (Sherry) of Claxton and Kitty Lewis (Shorty) of Townsville, SC; and his grandchildren, Courtney Amburn (Trey Smith), Jennifer Simmons, Caitlyn Amburn and Charlotte Mathis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and numerous other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions in Donald's memory be made to either the Georgia Sheriff's Youth Home Foundation, 3000 Highway 42 N McDonough, GA 30253, or The Coastal Empire Christian Camp, 996 Hiltonia Creek Rd, Sylvania, GA 30467.
