He is survived by: his parent Ruth Schaffer Johnston; his wife Margaret Fitzpatrick Johnston of Clarkesville; his daughter Deirdre Gambrell of Lawrenceville; his son-in-law William Gambrell of Lawrenceville; his sons, Daniel Johnston of San Francisco and Luke Johnston of Las Vegas; his brothers, Alan Johnston (Lillian) of Nashua and David Johnston (Evie) of Wilton; and his grandchildren, Natalie Gambrell and Dane Gambrell.
