She was predeceased by: her parents, Madison Dills and Nora Teems Dills; and her siblings, Lyman Dills, Mae Teems Kay, Ellen Dills Stancil and Elizabeth Dills Williams.

She is survived by: her children, Betty Shirley Nusbaum (William P.) of Upper Marlboro, MD, Roger Shirley (Evelyn) of Mt. Airy, Terry Shirley (Jewell) of Clarkesville, Mike Shirley of Bowman and Cindy Shirley Autry (Barry) of Clarkesville. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
