It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Ann Traina of Clarkesville, Georgia, born in Brooklyn, New York, who passed away on January 18, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Paul J. Traina; her son Kenneth P. Traina; her adoptive son James Delehanty; her brother Martin Delehanty; and her parents, Agnes Delehanty and Frank Delehanty.

She is survived by: her children, Peter (Karen) of Gulf Shores, AL, Jeanmarie Holmes (Dale) of Clarkesville, GA, Julie Ann Cosby (Jae) of Gulf Shores, AL and Marie Jensen (Tom) of Whidbey Island, WA; her grandchildren, John Paul Cosby, John Burke (Sara), Kelly Burke (Timur) and Kevin Stake (Violeta Reyes); her great grandchild Matthew Burke; and her brother Frank Delehanty.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Boys and Girls Club, Tim Lee Club, which provides summer programs for youth of Habersham County (2668 Hwy 197, Mt. Airy, GA 30563, 706-903-4131).

“Dear Traina Family, I just asked my friend John Bruni if he had talked with Mary Ann. He told me that she died recently. I remember both of your parents as wonderful compassionate and kind people. I met them in Athens, Ga many years ago. Your Dad Paul traveled and when he had a layover of a few hours, he would call me from the Louisville, KY airport....some 50 yr ago. I know your Mom had some health issues in recent years, but what a gutsy lady to go for her RN after raising her family”
