He was predeceased by: his parents, Smith Monroe Canup and Annie Aurora Allison Canup; his wife Laraine Burke Canup; and his siblings, Edward Canup, Charles Canup, Bobby Canup, Ruth Canup, Margie Nell Brown and Elene Ravan.
He is survived by: his daughters, Deborah and Kathrine "Kathie"; his son-in-law Jerry Ivester of Hartwell; his son R. "Keith"; his daughter-in-law Judy Canup of Toccoa; his daughter Tamara; his son-in-law Michael Jamison of Myrtle Beach; his son Timothy "Tim"; his daughter-in-law Kim Canup of Toccoa; his siblings, Jean Canup Stancil of Cleveland, Kathleen Canup Taylor of Chapin and Lamar Canup of Cleveland; and also Millie London (Bo) of Cleveland. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren.
