He was predeceased by: his parents, Price McCollum and Birdie Church McCollum; his wife Margie McCollum; his son-in-law Jim Briggs; and his siblings, G. P. McCollum, Curtis McCollum, Reeves McCollum, Celestine Nicholson, Hazel Fisher and Lewis McCollum.
He is survived by: his daughters, Brenda Briggs of Greenwood, SC and Jorie (Ron Stephens); his grandsons, Kevin Briggs (Erin) and Martin Briggs (Molly); and his great grandchildren, Winstin and Austin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Whitfield Funeral Home and Crematory- North Chapel (245 US-441, Baldwin, GA 30535). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at the Yonah Memorial Gardens (255 Central Ave, Demorest, GA 30535).
