He was predeceased by: his former wife Carolyn Weathersbee Sawyer; his parents, Wilbur A. Sawyer and Jewell Dykes Sawyer; his brothers, Alphus and Bobby Sawyer; his brothers-in-law, Dave Darsey and George Weathersbee; and his niece Sonya Sawyer Jackson.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hackley of LaGrange; and his children, Allen Sawyer of LaGrange, Darrell Sawyer (Lynn) of LaGrange and Lori Chestnut (Mickey) of LaGrange.
