He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Bennett and Juanita Bennett; and his sister Linda Cawood. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Bennett of Chatsworth, Georgia; his children, Doug Bennett, II (Tammy) of Ringgold, Jason Bennett (Susan) of Chickamauga, Adrian Bennett of Ringgold, Cindy Sales (Leon) of Cumming and Alisha Johnson (Brent) of Ranger; and his sisters, Sheila Bennett (Dale) of Silver Creek, Georgia and Nancy Bennett of Silver Creek, Georgia. He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the W. L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home-Ft. Oglethorpe Chapel (555 W Cloud Springs Rd, Rossville, GA 30742). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at the Calvary Gardens Cemetery (2200 S Cedar Ln, Fort Oglethorpe, GA 30742).
