He was predeceased by: his parents, John Leatherwood and Gaylord Leatherwood; and his siblings, James "Jim", Jay, Eugene Leatherwood, Ruby Martin and Evelyn Fucirelli.
He is survived by: his fiancée Karen Snyder; his children, William Roy (Jenene Leatherwood), Elaine (Richard McGuire), Jason Leatherwood of Calhoun, GA, Christopher (Emma Leatherwood), Adam (Laura Stacy) and Jennifer (Roland Wade); and his sister-in-law Shirley Leatherwood of Ashburn, GA. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
