With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Retha Chastain Lathem of Chatsworth, Georgia, who passed away on October 21, 2024 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband James Randall Lathem; her son James Dwight Lathem; her parents, Homer Chastain and Mary Chastain; and her siblings, Lucille Caylor, Inez Tillery and James Chastain.
She is survived by: her close friend Willie Southerland; her granddaughter Latocia Lathem; her great grandchildren, Tarryn Lathem and Jontae Sharp; and her daughter-in-law Stacey Lathem. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, monetary gifts may be made to her family either directly or by way of the funeral home.
