He was predeceased by: his parents, James and Elizabeth; and his brothers, Allen and Tommy Atkins. He is survived by: his wife Edith Atkins; his children, Mike Atkins (Patsy), Ricky Atkins (Tammy) and Tracy Vandergriff; and his sister Betty Coulter. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren.
