She was predeceased by: her husband Buel Edgar Townsend; her parents, Benjamin Franklin Broyles and Luda Mae Broyles; and her sisters, Anne Kimbro and Glennis Norrell.
She is survived by: her friends, George Ross and Caroline Forrest; her daughter Rhonda; her son-in-law George Edward Hughes of Chatsworth; her son Steven Townsend of Chatsworth; her grandchildren, Shannon Williams Burke, Ashley Brooke Bohannon, Rachel Williams Brindle, Rebekah Williams Garofalo, Stephanie Townsend Deyo, Addison Townsend, Tate Townsend, Brianne Hughes Cherry and Jada Hughes Watson; her sister Frankie; her brother-in-law Darrell Morgan; her siblings, Martha Cole and Billy; and her sister-in-law Joyce Townsend. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Chatsworth's Samaritan's Purse.
