He was predeceased by: his parents, Charley Whaley and Marie Whaley; and his brother Charles Kenneth Whaley. He is survived by: his brother Kevin Whaley (Amy); his sister-in-law Beverly Leachman of Cohutta; his close friend Sherry Williams; and his nieces and nephews, Shawn Whaley, Brooke Grindle, Breanna Ellis, Shannon Walters and Jeffery Whaley.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
