He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Mack and Edna Phyllis Ward Maples. He is survived by: his wife Linda Kay Maples; and his children, Jamie Carrell, Mitch (Candace Brown), Natilia Carrell (Mark Flood) and Candy (Tonder Gentry). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren.
