He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Denver and Ora Cason Daniel; his wife Mary Yarbrough Daniel; and his sister Shirley Elliott. He is survived by: his children, Jean O'Callaghan (Lee), Carolyn Anderson (Phil) and John Daniel (Lauren); his grandchildren, Lori O'Callaghan Wyse (Andrew), Elizabeth O'Callaghan Smith (Ryan), Joshua Daniel and Sarah Anderson Petren (Ray); his sister Kay Brooks (John); and his great grandchildren, Allison Wyse, Ethan Wyse, Imogen Smith, Connor Smith and Stanley Petren.

Due to the pandemic, a private graveside funeral will be held at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Tallapoosa, Georgia, followed by interment in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to support the Wayne Daniel Endowment (02E36) at Georgia State University Library's Popular Music and Culture Collection. “Wayne and I became friends when he enrolled in West Georgia College in 1947 and remained friends until now. We may have been separated in space but we were close in mind and spirit. I cherish his encouragement over the years. You will not recall that I was Best Man at the wedding of Mary and Wayne on a hot afternoon somewhere south of Columbus. I grieve with you but glory in his constancy in support of me and in his many worthwhile endeavors. Appreciate Jean's telephoning. Love, Ross”
