He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph DeSantis and Juliette DeSantis (Merlin); and his siblings, Elizabeth, Regina, Harry and Joseph.
He is survived by: his sons, Robert Jr. and Dominic; his daughter-in-law Kaye DeSantis; and his granddaughters, Anna DeSantis Welsh (Nick) and Renee DeSantis Mullikin (Christopher).
