He was predeceased by: his parents, John Carol "J. C." Guthrie and Georgia Mae Higginbotham Guthrie; and his siblings, James Edward Guthrie, Richard Lynn Guthrie and Linda Sue Woodley.
He is survived by: his wife Margie Morehead Guthrie; his children, Sandie M. Guthrie and Steven P. Guthrie (Terri); his grandchildren, Kaity S. Davis (Zach), Breanna K. Stoker (Jared), Dristen D. Guthrie (Ally), Canaan E. Smith and Micah J. Smith; his great grandchildren, Annistyn Maddox, Mason Stoker, Kota Guthrie and Rhett Davis; and his brother Willie E. Guthrie.
A graveside service was held on Sunday, March 30th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Polk Memory Gardens (2245 Rockmart Hwy, Cedartown, GA 30125).
