He was predeceased by : his parents, Francis Milton Burkart and Alma Speed Burkart. He is survived by : his wife Susan Holmes Burkart; his children, Lauren Burkart Bradley (David), Lee Ann Burkart and Alice Kate Steenland (Laurent Secheret); his grandchildren, Ann Carter Bradley, Charlie Bradley, Ben Bradley, Margot Secheret, Colette Secheret and Annabelle Secheret; and his sister Carol Burkart Kinney. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 11th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Northview Cemetery (71 Woodall Rd, Cedartown, GA 30125).
