She was predeceased by: her parents, John Fulton Rutledge and Pearl Lee Pitts Tanner; and her husband Eugene "Gene" Smith. She is survived by: her daughter Andrea Helmes of Cedartown; her children-in-law, Bruce Helmes of Cedartown, Marty Smith, Sandra Smith of Woodstock, Greg Smith and Tai Smith of Huntsville, AL; her brother-in-law Norma Jean Terrell of Cedartown; her brother Louis Rutledge of Cedartown; her sister-in-law Ann Rutledge of Cedartown; her grandchildren, Melody, Maggie, Caleb, Ella, Elijah, Bruce, Scott, Kyle, Michael and Rachel; and also, Sue Pilgrim of Cedartown and Tommy Pilgrim of Cedartown.
