He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmett R. Hopkins and Annie Welchel Hopkins; his former wife Patricia Ann "Pat" Hopkins; his stepdaughter Michelle Hammond; his son-in-law Chad Fincher; and his siblings, Wynette White, Bun Hopkins, Bobby Hopkins, John "Tinker" Hopkins and Alvin Hopkins.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Smith Hopkins; his daughters, April Fincher (Lane Mobbs), Marie Fincher (David) and Barbara Guadagni; his stepson Shane Smith; his grandchildren, Adrian Williams (JB), Tyler Fincher (Morgan), Jamie Gamad (Jeremiah), Ryan Fincher, Savannah McGatha (Steven), Logan Fincher (Emily), Natalie Fincher (Jake), Megan Mobbs, Cole Mobbs, Tyler Mobbs, Jade Swindall, Ryan Hammond, Anna Pierce, Hunter Smith and Brandon David Fincher (Holly); and his siblings, Joyce McLarty (David), Diane Harrell, Ronnie Hopkins (Angi), Ray Hopkins (Sara) and Barbara Ann Smith (Jimmy). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home (1000 N Main St, Cedartown, GA 30125). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
