With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gilda Morris of Cedartown, Georgia, born in Chesterfield, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 15, 2024 at the age of 93. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Perry Thompson and Hattie Irene Thompson-Mungo; her husband Albert Leon Morris; her son Mark Leon Morris; her brother Ralph Thompson; and her nephew Drennan Thompson.
She is survived by: her daughter Melissa Morris Cain (Bob); her grandchildren, Megan Morris Respert (Jason), Kaley Morris Blankinship (Matthew), Taylor Britt Gilmer and Annelise Grace Gilmer-Hughes (Summer); her great grandchildren, Carter Sharrow, Gunner Hatch, Isaiah Respert, Noah Respert and Juliana Gonzalez-Hughes; and her niece Beverly Thompson of Charlotte.
