Robert Andrew Ellis Obituary
Robert Andrew Ellis of Cedar Springs, Georgia passed away on June 22, 2023, at the age of 91. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Visitation will be held the evening before on Monday, June 26, 2023 at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home from 5 until 7 p.m.
Mr. Ellis was born in Cedar Springs on April 20, 1932, to William Andrew and Nellie Oliver Ellis. He retired from the United States Air Force with 20 years of service and was, also, a retired carpenter. He was an avid gardner, coffee drinker and story teller.
He is survived by his daughters, Shirley McArdle of Jakin, and Susan Stewart (Steve), of Donalsonville, his grandchildren, Mary Jean Albritton (Michael), Andrew Stewart, Cimelia McArdle, Seth McArdle (Josie), Savannah Betten (Niek), Chris Milner, Daniel Ellis (Davy), Jacob Ellis (Liz), and great grandchildren, Quinn McArdle, Raiden Ellis, Anthony Milner, and Breanna Milner.
Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lord Ellis, his daughter, Pam Harvey; his son, Curtis Ellis; his parents, his sister, Eloise Messer; brother-in-law Jack Messer, and a nephew, Patrick Messer.
