He was predeceased by: his parents, J. D. Lindsey and Annie Ruth Chapman Lindsey; and his siblings, Dewell Lindsey, Shelton Lindsey, Wayne Lindsey and Reba Mason.
He is survived by: his daughter Karen Smith (Kelly); his grandchildren, Laura Smith (Mounir Nessim), Jessie Smith and Sam Smith; his former wife Sandra Royster; and his brother Gerald Lindsey (Reba).
The family requests memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers.
