He is survived by: his wife Carol Whitener; his children, Kevin Paul Whitener (Deanne), Keisha Rae White (Jason) and James Murphy; his grandchildren, Andrea Poston, Andrew Poston and James Murphy; his brother Morris; his nephew Morris Isaac Whitener; his sister Wendy Haney; his stepmother Shelty Whitener; his stepbrother Johnny Wilson; and his aunt Joan Lewis Whitener. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
