He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Freeman and Mildred Freeman; his sister Liz Freeman Perdue; his son Anthony Freeman; and his grandson Terry Joseph "T. J.".
He is survived by: his children, Tera Denson and Ryan Freeman; his grandsons, Brady Dover, Blake Freeman, Josh Freeman and Nicholas Freeman; his great grandchildren, Bradyn Dover and Adeline Grace Dover; and his brothers, Wayne Freeman, Billy Freeman and Tony Freeman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
