He was predeceased by: his mother Ruby Smith Henson. He is survived by: his father William E. Henson; his wife Jayne Kilby Henson; his children, Jennifer Thompson (Matt) and Michael Henson; his grandchildren, Shelby Thompson, Ethan Thompson and Norah Thompson; his sisters, Gail Fersner (Sonny) and Pam Coleman (Tom); his sister-in-law Phyllis Russom (Gerald); his niece Jessica Fosbinder (Daniel); and his nephew Chris Coleman (Pamela).
