Martha Slocum Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Slocum of Cartersville, Georgia, who passed away on May 7, 2021, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Martha Slocum to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Floyd Goodson and Octavia Minnie Lee Winters; her husband William Slocum, Jr.; her siblings, William James Goodson and Kara Goodson of Washington; her stepdaughter Carles Allen; her stepgrandchild Shaylah Damari Brown; and her siblings-in-law, James, Bennie Slocum, Clarence McCorkle and Lillie Mae McCorkle.
She is survived by: her sons, Robert Goodson and Willie Junior Slocum; her stepchildren, David Slocum (Tina), Stanley Slocum (Leasa), Travis Slocum, Larry Slocum, Cynthia Slocum, Gary Slocum and Gloria Wilkey (Lamar); her siblings, Gracie Mae Goodson, Magdalene Goodson, Alean Goodson Smith, Cozella Goodson Hyatt, Robert Goodson (Shirley), Bobbie Lee Goodson (Virginia), Billy Joe Goodson (Felicia), Charles Goodson, Betty Wilkins, Christine Brown (Willie), Shirley McMichael, Polly Pritchett (Leon) and Joyce Slocum (Peggy Slocum); her uncle Bobby Winters; and her close friends, John, James, Victor Morgan, Ruby Mae Wheeler and Margaret Ford Shaw. She is also survived by other nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Due to COVID-19 regulations and guidelines, physical distancing practices will be in pace, and MASK ARE REQUIRED for those that will be attending the service.
She was a member of the Seventh District Usher Board, American Cancer Society and volunteered at the Red Door Food Pantry, distributing and delivering food to those in need.
