She was predeceased by: her parents, Marion V. Whitley and Retha Chadwick Whitley; her former husband William Kay Eley of Cartersville, GA; and her siblings, Harold Whitley and Louise Whitley Young.
She is survived by: her husband Elvin Pate of Adairsville, Georgia; her children, Curtis Eley, David Eley (Arlene), Mark Eley (Kay) and Elizabeth K. Edwards (Scotty); her grandchildren, Amanda Eley, Nechelle Barnwell, Cole Eley, Kyle Edwards, Nicholas Edwards, Kayla Edwards, Alicia Jenkins, Andrea Harper and Blake Eley; her stepchildren, Chris, Jamie Pate and Joy Wheeler; her grandsons-in-law, Christopher Jenkins and Heath Harper; and also, Kyle Edwards, Nicholas Edwards, Blake Eley and Cole Eley. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
