He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Mitchell and Inez Mitchell; his aunt Cliffe Finley; his uncle Charles Finley; his brothers, Benjamin Mitchell and James Newne; and his son Parnell Mitchell.
He is survived by: his brother Curtis Mitchell (Cora); his children, Darnell Mitchell (Rossia), Darnessa Mitchell, Dewayne Reynolds (Judy) and Felicia Story; and the mother of his children Tayana Chandler (Henry). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren.
