He is survived by: his wife Sue Abernathy; his daughter Jeanna Abernathy; his stepson Brian Nix (Tara); his grandchildren, Adrienne McFarland, William McCrory (Hannah), Casey McCrory (Allison), Sydney Edwards, Ben Edwards and Audrey Lidh (Jacob); his sisters, Wanell Dinning, Patty Babb Judy Jones (Jerry) and Brenda Giordano; and his cousins, Arlice DeFoor (Terry), Nancy Budzius (Fred) and Ann McDermott (Sean). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
