He was predeceased by: his parents, William Howard Thomas and Mary Etta Edwards Thomas; his sons, Charles J. Thomas, Jr. and Glenn Howard Thomas; and his siblings, Raymond Thomas, John L. Thomas, Herman Thomas, Sue Durden, Ruth Coker and Lois Brock.
He is survived by: his daughter Jo Ann; his son-in-law Eddie Branton of Kingston; his granddaughters, Shiana Humphrey (Greg) and Emily Thomas; the mother of his children Lucy O. Thomas; his brother George; his sisters-in-law, Nell Thomas of Dalton, GA and Clara Thomas; and his goddaughter Angie Langley Albonico. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
