He is survived by: his wife Margie Hembree; his children, Phoebe Martin (Frank), Wesley Hembree, Terry Bell (Russell), Winona Heath and Wendell Hembree; and his siblings, Betty Mae Garrison, Ruby Lee Owens and Dewey Hembree. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
