He was predeceased by: his parents, John Jefferson Jones and Lilie Mae Jones; his daughter Rhonda Armstrong (Fred); his brothers, Herman Jones, Cecil Jones, Roy Jones and James Jones; and his grandson Brandon Jones.
He is survived by: his son Gary Jones; his child-in-law Robin Carter; his granddaughter Melissa Jones; his grandchildren-in-law, Shallison Holder and Shannon Sheffield; his great grandchild Pamela Tipton; and also, Dana Hartley, Daniel Tipton, Joshua Tipton, Kyle Osteen, Autumn Osteen, Rhonda and Trevor Armstrong. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
