She was predeceased by: her parents, Coy Horton and Naniel Venable Horton; her sons, Willard Lee Maxwell and Michael Dillard Maxwell; her grandson Willard Lee Maxwell, Jr.; her husband Edward P. Heuer; and her brother Harold Horton.

She is survived by: her children, Lee Ann Musick of Bellbuckle, Tennessee and Timothy Maxwell of Carrollton; and her grandchildren, Daniel, Macie (Brandon), Jenna, Kera, Rebecca, Arlee, Dillard, Jamie, Mary Beth and Brooke. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
