He is survived by: his wife JoAnne Smith; his children, Shelby Smith, Elizabeth Pierce (Gary), Angela Dutton (Mickey) and Lynne Sammon (Brian); his brother William "Bill" Robert Smith (Theresa); his grandchildren, Laurel Smith, Brian Pierce (Ashley), Reed Dutton (Brenda), Ryan Dutton (Catherine), Mark Pierce, Katie Alfonso (Nathan), Ann Marie Wethern (Chad), Meredith Kelly (Clint) and Landon Barber; and his great grandchildren, Crawford Pierce, Tripp Pierce and James Wethern.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Samaritans Purse or Glenloch Baptist Church in honor of Richard.
