She was predeceased by: her parents, William A. Brown and Mildred Helton Brown; her husband Dennis Lee Bates Sr.; her siblings, Sandra Watson and William "Sonny" Brown II; her niece Lisa Lewis; and her great-nephew Nicholas Pace.
She is survived by: her son Rev. Dennis "Toby" Bates Jr.; her grandson Cody Bates; her siblings, Marie Woodruff and Steve Helton; and also, T. J. Pace, Matthew Beasley, John Mills, Aiden Pace and Michael Fox. She is also survived by numerous children that she "adopted" and nieces & nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Martin & Hightower Funeral Home (1312 S Park St, Carrollton, GA 30117). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Trinity Worship Center (1471 Center Point Rd, Carrollton, GA 30117). A burial was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park (656 Roscoe Rd, Newnan, GA 30264).
