He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Virgil Bassett and Mary Louise Deloach Bassett. He is survived by: his wife Earlita Johnson Bassett; his children, Amber, David Pritchard, Shea, Matt Jaffe and Steve Bassett; his grandchildren, Jessica, Andrew, Jordan, Devyn, Bryce and Brynn; his great grandchildren, Jackson, Landon, Kayley, Maddie, Eden, Hudson and Tucker; and his siblings, Jennifer Nichols and William Thomas Bassett.

A graveside service was held on Monday, September 30th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Center Point Church Cemetery (2176 Center Point Rd, Temple, GA 30179).
