He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Clay and Florence Gilley Clay Ragland; his wife Nell "Dot" Roberts Clay; his son Ronnie William Clay; his grandson Ronnie Ward; and his siblings, Bobby Clay and Carnelle Clay Collins.
He is survived by: his daughter Yvonne; and his son-in-law Enoch Jiles of Carrollton. He is also survived by two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and six great, great grandchildren.
