She was predeceased by: her mother Mary Frances Robertson Chappell; her stepfather Paul "Pete" Dukes; and her brother-in-law Richard Irwin. She is survived by: her husband Bill Carter of East Point, GA; her children, Carole Carter (Patrick Malloy) and Bo Carter (Ashley); her grandchildren, Zoe Malloy, Scout Malloy and Cally Carter; and her pet Pepper.
