He was predeceased by: his parents, Obie B. Starrett and Emma Frances Hayes Starrett; and his brother Herbert Starrett. He is survived by: his sisters, Elizabeth Skelton, Margie Veal, Virginia Taylor, Brenda Brooks, Hazel Bond, Faye Meadows and Jo Ann Lattimore; his wife Laverne Phillips Starrett; his sons, Rodney Starrett of Kings Mountain, NC, Randy Starrett and Russell Starrett; his stepchildren, Angela Morrison of Sandy Cross and Don Hendrix of Sandy Cross; and his sisters, Mae White, Frances Chambers and Linda Thomason. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
