He was predeceased by: his parents, George Lee Payne and Bonnie Sue Cobb Payne; and his siblings, Haskell Payne, Dennis Payne, Daphene Barrett and Delores Shelton.
He is survived by: his wife Deborah June Hambrick Payne; his children, Cory Payne of Martin, GA, Kyle Payne of Carnesville, GA, Wade Dutton of Carnesville, GA and April; his son-in-law J. R. McKissick of Fort Payne, AL; and his grandchildren, Davis Dutton, Summer McKissick and Walker McKissick. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
