He was predeceased by: his parents, James Eddie and Effie Daughtry Parrish; and his brother Elton Parrish. He is survived by: his siblings, Estelle, Rains and Ruth Powell; his children, James Parrish Jr., Ann Parrish Strickland, Doris Parrish, Hilda Parrish and Debra Leigh Alewine; his grandchildren, Kristopher, Monica, Isabelle, Hunter and Audrey; his great grandchild Blake; and his siblings, Melvin Parrish, Evelyn Jones of Smithfield, NC and Eunice Hooks.
