He is survived by: his children, Bobby Ayers of Carnesville and Connie Ayers Wiley of Anderson, SC; and his grandchildren, Stephen, Daniel Ayers, Michael, Maggie Burkey and Shanta Wentz. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
