He was predeceased by: his sister Patty. He is survived by: his children, Bonnie Sue, Russell John and Holly Heist; his grandchildren, Alyssa Lentz, Brittany Bensch, Jonathan Clarisse and Jesse Clarisse; his siblings, Edward Heist, Helen Goltl and Beth; and his uncle Willie.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Canton Funeral Home (10655 E Cherokee Dr, Canton, GA 30115). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, John had requested that donations be made to the Northport Volunteer Fire Department, 204 Main Street, Northport, NY 11768.
