It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James W. Parker (Canton, Georgia), who passed away on March 30, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his daughter Pat Steele; his parents, Herman Parker and Annie Parker; his siblings, Rachel Collins, Earl Parker, Wesley Parker, Gerald Parker, Hershel Parker and Herbert Dupree; and his brother-in-law Jimmy Ledford.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Parker; his sons, Tony Parker (Beverly) and James Parker (Bridget); his grandchildren, Beth Summerfield (Tim), Stephen Steele, Kaylie Burleson (Mark) and Alicia Parker; his great grandchildren, Madison Summerfield, Spencer Burleson and Simon Burleson; his son-in-law Steve Steele; his sisters, Sarah Gayton and Shirley Ledford; and his sisters-in-law, Barbara Parker and Rita Parker. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Shady Grove Baptist Church (3885 Lee St, Acworth, GA 30101).
