He is survived by: his wife Paulette Richardson Sams; his children, Mary Sams Marsh and Russell Sams (Eaddy); his grandchildren, Jackson Epling, Natalie Marsh, Parker Sams, Allison Marsh and Bennett Sams; his sister Joan Brannon; his nephew Greg Brannon; and his nieces, Wendy Hyde and Joeanna Chastain.
