He is survived by: his children, Terri Dixon Heard (Brad), Major Mary Elizabeth Dixon and James Frank Dixon, Sr. (Marie); his daughter-in-law Emily Dixon Donnelly; his stepchildren, Warren Royal (Terri), Gary Royal (Julie), Terri Royal Stumpe (Glenn), Krista Royal and Jenni Royal Wright (Chris); his grandchildren, Ken Forrester (Tindall), Christy Ward (Rob), Daniel Morrell, Holli Dixon McGahee (Michael), Ray Dixon, III (Lacy), Shealy Dixon Harrell (Douglas), Frank Dixon, Jr. (Katie Jo), Joseph John Dixon, III, Courtney Johnson Pearce (Andrew), Lindsay Johnson and Michael Johnson, Jr.; his stepgrandchildren, Brandon Royal (Rachael), Jason Royal, Jacob Royal, Kendall Stumpe, Tanner Stumpe, Maci Royal, Bayley Wright, Peyton Wright, Sophie Wright and Brad Heard, Jr. (Jan); his great grandchildren, Garner Wells Forrester, Allie Beth Forrester, Andrew Ward, Ben Ward, John Dixon Ward, Sam Ward, Luke Ward, Eva Marie Harrell, Frank "Tripp" Dixon, III, Liza Kate Dixon, Hope Davis, Mary Bennett Dixon, Ray Dixon, IV, Rigsby Dixon, Abigail Dixon, Cypress Pearce, Aspen Pearce, Maggie Pearce, Olive Pearce, Summer Steward and Winter Steward; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Jarrett Kemp, Shelby Heard, Selah Heard, Garrett Royal and Logan Royal; his siblings, Herbert Dixon (Judy) and Margaret Dixon Thomas; his sisters-in-law, Vera Morey Dixon, Barbara Dixon and Bett Dixon; and his caregivers, Will Brown and Curtis Morgan. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Camilla (27 E Broad St, Camilla, GA 31730).
